Forget your troubles...

...come on, get happy...

Yesterday was a remarkable day...and it deserves to be celebrated!! It was the best day I've had since becoming a mother other than the day Jayna was born. I thoroughly enjoyed being a mother from the moment I got up (at 4:45am...thank you Jayna) until this morning when I woke up.

My day began early, but I slept well and so did Jayna. She was smiley and joyful when I went in to get her up and dressed. That always makes getting her up easier. I changed her diaper and got her dressed and then fed her. She then decided that she didn't want to go back to sleep...she wanted to sit in her bouncy seat in our bedroom and be a part of the action as we got ready for work. She was still all smiles! She was perfectly happy sitting in her seat watching the action. No fussing to be held or anything!! It was so very cute. About 45 minutes later, she decided to take a nap.

We got to Summer's house at around 7:45am. I've been bringing Jayna to Summer's so that she can get used to being here with me here before I go back to work next Monday. She woke up as we got there and continued to be happy after I fed her. Her pack and play is in front of the sliding glass door at Summer's. She loves to just lie in there and kick and try and roll over and look out the window. And she makes the cutest little noises when she's happy.

She stayed awake and happy for most of the day yesterday. She was happy playing in the pack and play or being held and just looking around. She did have a short fussy period in the afternoon when I was gone. She took both sides when I fed her at 7:50am. She then took a 3 oz. bottle at about 10:30am. And she had just finished another 2 oz. bottle when I returned at 12:30pm! And then I fed her at 12:45pm and she took both sides again!! She was a hungry girl yesterday. I may have to begin giving her 4 oz. bottles already!

Jayna and I got home around 2:45pm. She had fallen asleep in the car (as always) and slept for about an hour when we got home. I got a ton of stuff done while she was asleep...I defrosted dinner, washed all my pumping stuff and her bottles, switched some loads of laundry and played with my dogs a little. She woke up by 3:40pm and I fed her. She stayed awake again and we played. I was talking to her in this funny high-pitched voice and she was smiling at me and making the cutest noises!! My heart grew...sort of like the grinch.

She stayed awake and was agreeable until about 4:30pm. I folded two loads of laundry and checked emails and then she wanted to eat again. I fed her and she then just wanted to sit in her seat. She eventually fell asleep for a short time allowing me to get some dinner prepared. She woke up as we were eating and fussed a little, but it was minimal.

She got her bath at 7:15pm and Chris read Curious George to her. I don't think she looked at the book once...but Chris really enjoyed the time with her. After that I fed her and she was in bed by 8:20pm. She fussed a little in bed, but was asleep by 9pm. And here's the kicker...she didn't wake up until 4am!!! Yes. She slept 7 straight hours!! I frantically got up at 3am to check on her, but she was fine.

She reluctantly went back to sleep and I had to wake her up at 6:15am. And she was STILL happy even though I had to wake her up!! She ate again at 6:45am and she's sleeping right now at 9:20am.

If everyday could go like yesterday, I'd be the happiest mom on earth! The good thing is that even if everyday doesn't go this way, I atleast know that it's possible. Days like yesterday also make me think that I can juggle working and being a parent. I know, I know...people do it everyday and survive. I was feeling very overwhelmed before yesterday and having an outstanding day relieved a bit of the stress. I am a happy woman today! Being a mom is wonderful!!!
