Fleas on my dog...

Merry Christmas, everyone!! I know it's a little late, but better late than never. If you got the title reference, good for you!! I only know of a few people who will...

What can I say about Christmas 2008? Well, only that it was awesome!!! (and that I really wish I had my pictures uploaded so I could show you how awesome it was...) I had forgotten how great Christmas is for children. Seeing Jayna so wide-eyed was just wonderful. I can't wait until next year when she can participate more.

My nephew was also very fun to watch. He loves, loves, loves books!! He got so many for Christmas and he was so excited! Chris and I bought him The Pigeon Wants a Puppy by Mo Willems. I LOVE this author! I will be getting Jayna as many of his books as I can find! In addition to the Pigeon series, he has an Elephant and Piggie series that is just as cute. I sure wish I could illustrate like that!

In the afternoon, we went to see Chris' grandmother in the rehab center. (They call it a rehab center, I call it a nursing home.) I got Jayna's 3 month CUTEST PICTURE EVER enlarged to 10 x 13 and framed it for Grandma for Christmas. Her eyesight is bad, so we didn't think she'd be able to see it. She immediately knew what it was when she opened it. And she loved it!! It made me cry. What a sweet, sweet woman.

On Saturday after Christmas, Chris and I took Jayna to see my grandmother...my dad's mom. I haven't seen her in 7 years. Some crazy things went down before we got married and my grandmother, along with almost all of my dad's family, made the decision to boycott my wedding. While I'm not totally over this, I've decided that it isn't in Jayna's best interest to deny her a large part of her family. I'll let her make that decision on her own when she's older. We had a nice visit...did some catching up and playing with Jayna.

All in all, our holiday was great. Busy, but great. I hope you all had a wonderful time, too.

Is that the same author who did "Don't let the pigeon drive the bus?"
My nephew LOVES that book (especially when Gramma reads it to him).
