For the Sake of Memories

Right off the top of my head, I can't remember what I did last weekend. It just took me approximately 5 minutes to remember the goings on of last weekend. And that bugs me.

I write this blog not only for your reading pleasure, but also to record memories. I want to remember lots and lots of things about my life. And if I can't remember less than a week ago, how the hell am I going to remember all of the holes where I don't write any blog entries for a week?

The problem? I overextend myself. Stretch myself too thin. Burn the candle at both ends. Too many irons in the fire. You get the idea. But I like to be busy. I like to DO things. I like to keep busy. And I like to provide new and exciting experiences for my kid. And if I just sit around blogging all day that won't happen.

The Mother's Day BBQ was fun. It was a little chilly that day and Jayna had an ear infection, so we didn't do any playing outside. Jayna also decided that naptime was stupid that day. She took no afternoon nap, so she was exhausted the whole time. She was a good sport, but she started to fall asleep toward the end. She let everyone hold her (including her scary grandpa!!) and smiled and got her picture taken and charmed everyone...as always. She's just an easygoing, lovable kid. When I wonder where my good karma is, I just look at her. It's all wrapped up right there.

Here she is with said scary grandpa. He looks sooo scary, right? I think it's just his low booming voice...

On Saturday before Mother's Day, I went in to get Jayna from her crib in the morning and she was sitting up!! She had learned to sit herself up about a week before that, but hadn't done it in her crib yet. Now she's sitting up almost every morning. It's very cute that she's so eager to get up and greet the morning.

Her ears are healed up and we hope they'll stay that way!! Last Saturday we had family pics taken in our Red Sox gear. Seriously, my kid is such a good sport when it comes to pictures. She did get a little fussy, but that was just the stranger fear. She warmed up near the end and then things went okay.

The first one says "Boston Red Sox Girl" at the bottom. That's what her shirt says.

Hope you've all had a good few weeks. I'll be updating more in the next few days as Jayna will be 9 months old tomorrow. And...once again...where has the time gone?? See...this is why it is oh-so-ever-important to record the memories. The are ever-so-fleeting.
