ToT: 2012 Year in Review

HI!!!

I know, right?!? It's only been like 3 months since my last ToT post.

Look, folks. Life happens. It just...happens. And you'll see why in a minute. We live a full life!!

I won't bore you with a lot of stupid words. I know the bulk of you just want to see the photos anyway. :)

2012 was BUSY. We stayed busy all year with fun and hanging with friends and home projects and birthday parties and all sorts of craziness. The best thing that happened in 2012 was that Jayna had her eye surgery and is now all healed up and fine!! No more exotropia!! She was also released from her ENT regarding her ears. So no more extra doctor appointments for a LONG TIME!!

In no particular order, here's what we did last year:

Went to Chuck E. Cheese for Jolie's birthday party and hung out with all of Jayna's preschool friends and friends' parents.

Rode bikes in January with only a jacket on.

Hung out with Layla at Monkey Joe's for Sam's birthday.

Went to Super Bowl Village and drank beer with Jake and Michelle in the freezing cold.

Renovated our office at work

Hung out with Ellie and Michelle when they delivered our Girl Scout cookies.

Got a very special Super Bowl jersey as a gift from Nana B.

Had eye surgery to correct alternating exotropia.

Got a really cool get well card/picture from preschool friends who were worried about Jayna.

Signed her own Valentines for her friends.

Held David Ortiz' bat at the Louisville Slugger Museum.

Went to the Louisville Science Museum for a guitar exhibit with Mark and Charlotte.  We also went to the Jimmy Buffett concert in Louisville during this trip...and got caught in an almost tornado.  This was the weekend that the tornado hit Henryville, IN.

Went to see the Black Keys...and drank beer at the Tilted Kilt before the show.  I also spilled a complete cup of beer all over other concert goers at this show.  And I had only had 2 drinks.

Got an iPad...and learned how to use it to it's full potential.

Had races in the backyard.  Even Ollie got in on the fun.

Started carrying a purse. :)

Got big enough to wear a dress that was Mommy's when she was little.  Great Granny V. brought that back from Hawaii WAY BACK in the day.

Altered a dresser into a functional piece of furniture.

See?!? Told you it was functional.

Built a raised garden in the backyard.

Got her first hair cut.

Planted things in our new garden.

Visited Layla on her actual birthday.

Went to Lake Freeman a couple of times.

Painted pictures.

Got a physical to get life insurance in which my blood had to be drawn from the back of my hand.  Apparently, I have tiny vains.

Hung out with the Quags.  Roasted marshmallows.  Decided we need to get Jake a fireproof marshmallow roasting stick.

Hung out with Bri and Aly at the park for Bri's birthday.

Got our family pics taken with PopPop and Uncle Tony, Aunt Summer and Bubby.

Went to about a million Indians baseball games.  (I think it was 3, but it seemed like we were there all the time.  We LOVE it there.)

Taught the little one the beginning stages of DIY fever.

Visited the dentist for the first time.

Went to the White House.

Went to Uncle Steve's ceremony.  He became an Air Force Captain.

Went to D.C.  Visited about 80 museums, the National Zoo and a million monuments.  Had a blast.

Walked up ALL the stairs to the Lincoln Memorial.  Even Jayna did it ALL by herself.

Saw the Big Man in person.  He really takes your breath away.  It quite literally brought tears to my eyes.

Went to see Dave in concert. In all, Chris and I went to 5 concerts in 2012: Jimmy Buffett, The Black Keys, Dave Matthews Band, The End of the World Tour (Barenaked Ladies, Blues Traveler, Big Head Todd & the Monsters, Cracker) and The Toadies. That's a new record.

Went to Louisville to see WITH OUR OWN EYES that Charlotte is okay.  She is...and we had a fantastic time while we were there.  Mark and Charlotte are always great hosts.

Saw some pretty fantastic mustaches. :)

Drank bourbon at the Woodford Distillery in Kentucky.  And I still hate it.

Drank wine at the Equus Winery in Kentucky.

Got hugs from Rowdy at the Indians game.

Enjoyed the fruits of our labors...home grown broccoli.

Got drunk and overheated (it was 101 degrees that day) at the company picnic and got my face painted like the Batman symbol.  (I sort of want to kick my OWN ass for posting this ridiculous photo of me.)

Took swimming lessons with Brady.

Made funny faces at an Indians night game.

Tried to catch a t-shirt from Rowdy at the Indians game.

Started tumbling.  Got pretty good at the bars.

Went to see The Toadies in concert.  Todd is my hero. :)

Cut down an ENTIRE tree without calling a tree service.  Saved ourselves hundreds of dollars.  Gave ourselves hundreds of headaches.

Turned 4 years old.

I went to my first Colts game at Lucas Oil Stadium.  Thanks, fellow ToT-er, Michelle.

Did some fall decorating courtesy of Jayna.  I think she has a future in interior design.

Played dressup with Mallory.

Went to an Indians game with the Quags.  Sat in the lawn.  Got rained on.  Still had a hell of a time.

Went on the coldest hayride ever for Lilly's birthday.

Went to Irish Fest.  Danced our pants off.

Went to the pumpkin patch.  It was 65 degrees.  And it was just wierd.

Bummed rides off of Daddy when her feet got tired.

Braid our hair...a LOT.

Went bowling for the first time for Brady's birthday.

Had four-legged visitors for the holidays.

Went to Christmas at the Zoo with Brady, Janel and Brad.  Rode the train.  Froze our fannies off.

Went to ZooBoo with Layla, Laura and Levi.  It was 80 degrees.  We perspired a LOT.

Had dinnertime talks with Pappaw.

Got our family picture taken at Christmas at the Zoo.

Saw Santa at the school Christmas party.

Received a giant wine glass named Big Carl from Tiff.  Thanks, Tiff!!

Spent lots of time admiring Christmas decor.

Had what Jayna declared to be the "best Christmas ever."

What did y'all do last year?
