Let me clarify: I CAN read. So that's not the issue. And I LIKE to read. So that's no problem either. The trouble is that I don't have the desire to read at this point in my life.
I read a lot of this:
And some of this:
And a lot of this:
And even a little of this:
The reading I do for myself is all news. I read tons of news stories from various sources. I listen to NPR in the car instead of music. I even sometimes watch the news. I don't know what happened to me, but I now pretty much only read the news. And REAL news. Not news such as which Kardashian is now knocked up by a loser pop star.
So I've decided that since I don't really read, I'm going to write the second half of my New Year's post.
Here is a list of my hopes/dreams/plans for the year 2013.
- Jayna starts kindergarten this year. I hope that she LOVES school. I hope that she makes life long friends in school as I did. And I hope that her love of learning continues throughout her life.
- I plan to actually MOVE. We are currently working on that, but just as I pick up one wrench to throw back, ANOTHER one comes flying at me. But remember kids, if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball. So by the time this process is over, I should be a pro at buying houses!!
- We plan to add to our family...another four-legged member. This having only one dog business is for the birds. We're a 2 dog family and we intend to correct that by sometime this fall.
- We REALLY want to get things in place to rent our current house. Through this entire process, the renting of our current house has me the most anxious. I'm sure we'll do it and it will be fine, but dang it's mind boggling!!
- I hope to continue making outstandingly great memories with my friends and family! We had so many great times last year that I hope we can keep up in 2013! We were tired last year, but we were truly blessed. We want to continue that this year.
And remember...visit the other ToT-ers in the sidebar to the right!

I am reading The Good Earth b/c it is my book club book for this month. I guess it is a classic but I am having a hard time getting into it.
Wow...Jayna starting Kindergarten is a true reality check on how FAST the past several years have flown by! Also, Lottie hopes that she loves school too! I am a firm believer that your very first impressions/experiences in school set the foundation for the attitude with which we approach schooling for the rest of our lives.
