Today was a special day.

Today was a heartbreaking day.

Today...today.  It has been 2 years today since my friend Nancy lost her baby, Violet, at 26 weeks pregnant. 

To keep Violet's memory alive, Nancy invited the whole world to participate in an event called All Because of Violet.  The event doesn't have a time frame.  It doesn't have to have a price.  It only involves your kindness.  The idea is to do a random act of kindness in memory of Violet and to share Violet's story.

Everytime I tried to tell someone about Violet, I would get very choked up.  It very literally breaks my heart that Nancy and her family and little Violet had to endure the loss and pain that goes along with losing a child.  Since I couldn't seem to find the words, I typed a note telling people about the event.  I then purchased 2 Target gift cards, paperclipped them to the note and left them on the cars on either side of me in the parking lot.

I hope to do this every October 11th.  And I hope Nancy knows that she is in my thoughts more than she knows.  I hope the healing continues.
