New Word Wednesday: Food Again

There was a time period of about 2 months where Jayna would eat no meat except chicken nuggets and hotdogs.  It was frustrating because I really just want her to eat what we eat for dinner most of the time.  Like if we have grilled chicken, I'd like for her to eat that.  But no luck.  She'll eat some off of my plate, but if I put it on her plate, it is no longer appealing because it is hers and not mine.

I got her McDonald's one Saturday and decided that I was just going to get her a cheeseburger and hope for the best.  I started by telling her that it had cheese on it.  My kid LOVES cheese.  She likes cheese on her eggs.  She likes cheese on her broccoli.  She likes cheese on her noodles.  And she has even gone so far as to request cheese on her cereal.  So I began there.  "Look Jayna!!!  It has cheese on it!  Ooooh, yummy!"  She was okay with that until she took a bite and realized that it wasn't JUST cheese.  And then came the funny look.

I then told her that it was a hamburger with cheese...a cheeseburger.  She ended up eating it all and asking for more.  I called that success.  She now eats cheeseburgers that we cook, so now I have one more thing to put in the dinner line up.

A few days after her initial cheeseburger, I asked her what she wanted for dinner one evening.  "Dinner!!  Cheesehammer!!  Yummy!!"

Cheesehammer, folks.  Yummy.
