Jayna loves her "bubby." That up there is cousin Anthony. He is 7 and he loves Jayna almost as much as I do!! She follows him around and wants to sit on his lap and wants to play with his toys and his friend, Edward. Everyday, even if Edward isn't at bubby's house when I pick up Jayna, she says, "Bye, Edwin. See you later."
Jayna now gets put in time out atleast 3 times a week. I know, not alot, but she's not even 2. We put her in time out for things that could hurt her or others. If she stands up on the couch, she gets about 3 warnings and then time out. If she repeatedly kicks me while I'm changing her diaper, time out. Last week I put her in time out completely naked because she Wouldn't. Stop. Kicking me. She also knows how to throw one HELL of a fit. It usually starts out like the above photo (although in this pic she's laughing and playing) and then goes into fake crying and peaking through her fingers to see if we're paying attention to her. I have to regularly leave the room to laugh at her.
I'm pretty sure she knows that she's as cute as can be and will eventually begin using this for evil. As in, "Daddy, pleeeeeaaaaaaaase buy me a car." And he'll do it. Because what choice will he have??
It's safe to say that she's a lefty. She can draw pictures, shapes and even make a few letters with her left hand. She eats with her left hand. And she is just as uncoordinated with her right hand as any adult is with their non-dominant hand. She loves to color and will do it quietly by herself for quite sometime. And she sometimes gets pretty intense about it...as you can see.
She imitates EVERYTHING we do and say. She talks on the phone, uses the television remote, cooks, drives, etc. She also says everything we say and most of the time in the inflection in which we say it. This morning in the car she requested a "diffent cd" than the one we were listening to. I obliged and asked her what song she wanted to hear. She said, "Um, pie song. No, akshully, mommy, monkey song." She is apparently 2 going on 16. She shouldn't know words like "actually." Last week in the car she asked me to hand her a toy. I couldn't reach it on account of, you know, trying not to wreck the car. I told her she'd have to wait until we got home. She said, "But mommy, bored!" She picked that one up from cousin Anthony.
She can go weeks without eating one complete meal a day. As in, she'll eat 2 bites of breakfast, one bite of lunch and 3 bites of dinner. That's it. If she eats atleast half of a meal, I'll give her a cookie or a popsicle and she thinks it's pretty cool. She is eating a homemade cookie in this picture and liked it so much that when I'd ask her what she wanted for dinner for the next few days, she'd say, "Mommy's cookies." :)
She doesn't go far without her blankie and her amigos. Her blankie is the dotted thingy up there. And her amigos are the purple duck, the pink penguin and a pink rabbit that is hidden somewhere. I named them the Three Amigos and she's called them her amigos ever since. She sleeps with them, takes them to the sitter EVERYday, takes them on any overnights and sometimes requests to take them in the car with us when we just go to the grocery or something. We don't allow her to take them into stores with us...mostly for germ purposes. And a little for our sanity. :)
All in all she's a wonderful kid. She's blossoming and growing so fast that I feel like I'm missing something. I'm not, though, because I'm with her ALOT!!! I can't believe that she'll be 2 in less about 7 weeks. It breaks my heart and makes me so proud of her all at the same time.
