Slapdash at it's best...

I have so much to say, but nothing that really deserves it's own post. Here goes:

* Funny story. Last week...maybe Tuesday?...I got to Summer's to pick up Jayna and Summer said to me, "She'll probably have a mark on her left big toe." To which I very predictably replied, "And why is that?" The response? "Well, she put her foot in her mouth today and bit down. And screamed." My kid bit her own toe. She bit her own toe. Hard. There was a mark and a small bruise. She bit her toe. Ahhh, babies.

* The end of last week was brutal. When I woke up on Thursday morning, the actual temperature was 4 degrees. The wind chill was something like -10. Summer had a two hour delay and I just wasn't willing to let Jayna go to the bus stop in that weather. Perfect excuse to stay home!! So Jayna and I hung out at home all day on Thursday. She was a maniac, but we had fun overall. Lots of playing and laughing and such. She's so fun at this age. All of the discovery is so neat to watch.

* Jayna got her first taste of baby food on Thursday evening. I mixed a couple of teaspoonfuls of peas in with her cereal. She loved it! I think the introduction of a new food caused her some diarrhea, but she's okay now. Tonight we're going to try carrots.

* I FINALLY finished one rough copy illustration for one of the books I'm illustrating. It is awesome and the author loved it. It's so nice when you do something and it just works. It seems that that hasn't happened alot for me lately, so it's a nice change of pace. I'm excited to do more and get a finished product.

* Jayna is 100% weaned. She is now a formula/cereal/baby food kid. And I feel liberated. I drank WAY TOO MUCH beer on Saturday night and paid for it Sunday morning. But Chris got up with Jayna because now I DON'T HAVE TO!! I'm sure I will most of the time because I enjoy it, but it's nice to have options.

* Saturday was the first scrapbooking day of the year. Summer, Mom and I got together and made an album for Kelly, our hairdresser. She's having a baby in March and we just love her. So we made her an album. We finished the WHOLE album in one day. I'll have pictures soon...

* I got a new camera awhile back and I'm loving it. It's still just a point-and-shoot, but it takes much better pics than my dinosaur of a Sony Cybershot. My cybershot is 6 years old. That's like 50 years old in electronics years. It was top of the line when I bought it...

* I've been having a difficult time...with everything. I'm having a hard time managing my time and getting things done. Things don't seem to be getting any easier...only more redundant. Winter is taking it's usual toll on my attitude. I stopped breastfeeding which very often causes mild depression/mood swings. Yeah, they ain't lyin' about that one!! Things got slightly better this weekend, so we'll see. This subject actually does deserve it's own post.
