Onward and upward to letter "B." Here goes:
Bloomington
Oh, sweet sweet Bloomington. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. A good portion of my most important formative years were spent in this city and my heart will forever be fond of it. I went to college there for 5.5 years. I got engaged and married while I lived there. I (sort of) met the love of my life there (see also "Chris"). I made some great friends there although most of them have since moved away as I have. I would do anything to go back and live there, but some very important and needful things keep me away. My favorite beverage, Upland Wheat Ale, is brewed there (see also "Beer"). My favorite bar, Yogi's, is there (see also, Yogi's). Pretty much my favorite everything is there. Bloomington will always remind me of a simpler, yet very difficult time in my life. Less responsibility but also less money and less "stuff." It was there that I develeoped a love of beer, nature, learning (institutional and otherwise) and the simple things in life. I just love it.
Beer
Most of my "B" words derive from Bloomington. I became a beer snob while living there. I had a high disposable income and a great deal of it was spent on alcohol...namely, beer. I learned that wheat beer is my favorite and that it's decently priced when you live in the city in which it's brewed. I developed a love for Hoegaarden (which I later learned is brewed by Anheuser-Busch) and my liver and pocket book are surely still affected by it. I also drank (still drink) alot of Corona, Fat Tire, Hacker Pschorr and Red Hook. Beer has been my best friend and my worst enemy, but mostly my best friend. :)
Baseball
I also developed my love of baseball while living in Bloomington. Chris and I began watching baseball in 2001, as soon as we were legal to get into bars. Yogi's (if you couldn't tell by the name) was a baseball-themed bar at the time and we began watching the Boston Red Sox (see also "Red Sox"). I became engrossed in learning the rules and strategy of the game and began to form my own love for the Sox. Bill Mueller was my first baseball love and I've since transferred that love to another third baseman, Mike Lowell. I love watching the game and love the strategy that goes into playing it. Oh, and I love that baseball games have no time limits. Two hours or five hours...very unpredictable.
Blog
I love to write. I especially love to write for an audience...and even though there are only about four of you, you are still my audience! I also have always enjoyed keeping a journal and writing about feelings and that kind of junk. Blogging is truly an essential outlet for me. Blogging began as a hobby, but it's become a necessity for me. How else would I keep track of my oh-so-busy life?!? I love sharing my point of view, my stories and my pictures with all of you and I hope you enjoy it too!!
