Me: The Abridged Version, A

Like me, my mom is an avid scrapbooker.  She is the kind of scrapper who likes to have instruction...I think mostly because it forces her to do things.  She takes online classes and participates in free projects at our local scrap store.  I think I should take a lesson from her.

She is currently taking an online scrapbooking class at Big Picture Scrapbooking called Me:  The Abridged Version in which she scrapbooks an entire book formed from tidbits about her life in the format of an encyclopedia.  Fun, huh?  And while I'm not sure that this info will ever make it into scrapbook form, I thought it would be fun to do this...just a little at a time.

Today we'll start with the letter "A."  What can I file under "A?"

Assface
I say this word alot.  Mostly I am referring to people I don't know.  Probably someone who is driving like an assface or someone in front of me at the grocery store who is taking waaayyyy too long with writing a check and then arguing the price of everything.  Oh, and I call my brother that too (see also "Anthony").

Anthony
Anthony is the name of my brother and my brother's child, my nephew.  And the two appropriately have the same name as they are identical in attitude and character.  That isn't always a bad thing, but I definitely see a little version of my brother in my nephew.  Both are very dear to me even though they both have a tendency to drive me batty.

August
August is one of my favorite months.  Although Fall or Autumn is my favorite season, I associate August with the return to school...and college later in life.  When I was younger, back to school time was always my favorite time of year.  This was especially true in college when I got to go away from home and abuse my new-found freedom (see also "College").  I also now associate August with the birth of my baby girl, Jayna who was born on August 21, 2008 (see also "Jayna").

Argue
I am known for my argumentative nature.  I will even argue from a point of view that I don't necessarily agree with.  Call it devil's advocate if you will, but I prefer the term "forcing one to see that there are two sides to every story."  My arguments are always (err, almost always) good natured and are usually meant to help someone understand the other side of things.  It should also be said that in high school, I was on the Debate Team all four years and was captain for three.  I have a plethora of ribbons, most first and second place and I kick myself daily for not pursuing this after high school.

Accident
I am one of the most accident-prone people I know.  I could hurt myself in a straight jacket in a padded room.  I am forever bruising up my legs from running into things or stubbing toes on furniture legs.  I seem to be getting better about this, but we'll see.  Luckily (knock on wood), i haven't broken that many bones and I don't have a wide array of scars.

Artistic
I love art of all kinds.  I like to draw, paint, write, scrapbook, etc.  I don't think there is a single craft that I haven't dabbled in.  My strong suits are my scrapbooking and my writing.  Some people think I am a good painter, but I just think I'm average.  Kids think I'm an awesome drawer, but again, just average in my mind.  I have even illustrated a children's book called Oliver and Arthur.  Most people think it is pretty good, but I am my own biggest critic.

So, what "A" words remind you of me??  What are your own "A" words??
