Five For Friday: Movies

I like movies well enough.  I have a fairly short attention span, so it's difficult most of the time for me to sit through a movie and really pay attention and not do one of the following:  fall asleep, scrapbook, get up a million times, make lists.  I like movies that make me think.  Surprise, right?  But I also enjoy a good comedy too.

That being said, there are a handful of movies that I watch over and over and over again.  I own them and am not afraid to forego watching a new movie that I've never seen so that I can watch a tried and true favorite.  So here goes Five for Friday:  Movies I Watch Over and Over Again.
  1. Lost in Translation.  Bill Murray is a favorite of mine.  This movie speaks volumes to me.  It shows culture shock ("I say lip my stockings!!"), generation gap and a certain kind of undefinable love all in one movie.  Two whiskeys up.
  2. Catch and Release.  Jennifer Garner is my hero.  I am not afraid to say that I want to be her when I grow up.  This movie shows such a different side of loss and grieving with some hilarity mixed in ("It was just a small fight, sir.").  Very touching in my kind of way.  Two fishies up.
  3. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.  "Meet me in Montauk."  This movie is pretty confusing the first time you watch it, but after the second viewing, you get a good sense of what's going on.  Very sad at some points.  It, like Lost in Translation, shows a very different view of love...and how some love never dies.  Two dreams up.
  4. Friday.  "Break yo'self, fool!"  Yes.  A movie about the Mary Jane.  I will love this movie till the day I die.  I laugh through the whole thing.  It brings back memories from college when my friend and I would watch it almost everyday.  Two doobies up.
  5. The Jerk.  Steve Martin was at his peak in this movie.  "You mean I'm gonna stay this color?!?"  I know most lines from the movie and repeat atleast one of them per week.  I just don't know what else to say about it except GO WATCH IT NOW!!  Two opti-grabs up.
Gran Torino runs a close sixth even though it makes me cry.  I just couldn't put it on the list because I don't own it.  Clint Eastwood is awesome. What an outstanding portrayal of prejudice in a modern world.

What do y'all watch over and over again.  And you better not say Twilight.

PS I love you makes make me cry every single time I see it. You made me think of that when you mentioned showing another side of love

PS I love you moved me so deeply. I can't watch it again because I cry so much that my eyes swell shut. The Bucket List got me too. Sex and the City I & II are awesome.
