Jayna likes music. And she likes it loud. We've recently had to put a limit on how loud we turn things up...or let her turn things up. It's especially tricky in the car as I've learned that if I must make a phone call in the presence of my child, the car is the best place to do it. If I try and make a phone call from our house when she is there and awake, disaster ensues. Heaven forbid that I have attention that she is NOT getting.
Lately she'll ask, "Mommy, turn it up." And I'll turn it up to a reasonable volume. Then she'll ask to replay a song and, again, will ask, "Turn it up." And I reply, "It's loud enough. It doesn't go any louder." Yes, I lie. I know. And I'm okay with it.
She has now carried this "turn it up" frame of mind to television. This morning she was watching the dreaded Spongebob with Chris and she said, "Daddy, turn it up." He said, "It's loud enough. We can hear it and it's loud enough."
Chris then left to go to work. Spongebob ended and another episode came on. She turned to me and, while shaking her head no, said, "No Mommy, nuff louder. Daddy said nuff louder."
Cracked me up. :)
